Pool is amazing, balconies are small but great view. Rooms deserve refreshment and staff could be better organized and listening to their customers.
Better than I'd anticipated
When we entered the building I was put off by the early '60s Indian-like themed decor they had going on in the lobby. It was also really cold in the lobby which threw me off. The staff was exceptionally friendly though and the price for a last minute walk-in wasn't so outrageous, and after viewing both rooms with or without a sea view we decided to take a chance and stay the night. We chose the room without a sea view as we'd been up for days without much sleep and as my friend put it, "the only view we want(ed) to see (right now) is that of a bed".
They were super accommodating and even sent up someone to help with our luggage. The room left me very much impressed. Much better than the room we had at our last hotel in the same city (Hotel Sole Mare), and bigger too. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was really spacious and even had a tub to boot! They offered room service as well, and we took advantage of that in the morning for breakfast.
The night we stayed we had dinner in the restaurant, and save one other lady who came in later, we were the only ones in the main dining room which made it that much more intimate. The food was excellent and we loved our waiter (who was also a member of staff), Mattia. He was very knowledgeable about our food, the wine and was very humorous and simpatico!
The hotel itself has a very "Grand Hotel Budapest" feel to it - and not even because of the name. The ambiance is older, but is well maintained. They said that it was built in the late 1800s - so in my opinion it's in very good condition if that's the case.
The dessert we had that night was one of the most delicious either of us have ever had in our lives, and was definitely worth getting - I would recommend the restaurant as well as the hotel itself.
All in all, definitely worth the bit extra you're spending per night to have a little bit more luxury than at the budget hotels.
Nice salty swimming pool with one well suited for young kids (2 y.o.).
Hôtel as nice amenities for the price and at. Walking distance from city center
I enjoyed staying in this old fashioned hotel. The room was rather big and clean, provided with a big wardrobe with more than enough space. The room had a safe and a balcony. Free access to a nice outdoor sea water swimming pool. Very good and vaste international breakfast.
Great family hotel. Pleasant people. Ideal for that weekend visit.
Faded grandeur excellent service
I enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel, but a few pieces were lacking. For example my ACCOUNT was broken, but they wouldn't fix it.
