Nice National Park South off Vieste on the Adriatic Coast. You can drive the coastal roads or take a boat ride out off Vieste which goes into several caves..

Around 30 minutes away from the beach by car. We could not have hoped for better. Topped our expectations. Dress up accordingly, there are obviously mosquitos. Nothing that bothered much, though.

Fantastic, beautiful place. You find mountains as well as gorgeous beaches, great restaurants, motels, camp sites. very well kept, clean, peaceful. Not too crowded even during peak season. Highly recommended.

I spent one of my best weekends in this place. You can easily get accommodation in the resorts situated nearby. It is surrounded by beautiful beaches ,few of them are just untouched which gives us a spectacular relaxing weekend. This place is photographer's paradise :D

I think it is one of the best places on the east coast of Italy. You can enjoy the mountain by visiting the Umbra Forest or staying along the coast on beautiful beaches and a fantastic sea. Food in general is great. I often work here and it's one of my favorite destinations.

Potrebbe essere una vera perla. Da San Giovanni Rotondo a Cagnano Varano 30 km di immondizia, sentieristica inesistente, centri visita idem. Regna sovrano l'abusivismo e l'abbandono per mancanza di senso civico degli abitanti. Eppure ci sono luoghi semplicemente unici.

Oasi di verde secolare e aria al 100% ossigenata. Foresta affacciata sullo splendido mare del promontorio con stupende essenze arboree. Ben tenuto nel complesso e facilmente percorribile . Meglio organizzato con strutture per il tempo libero è però la zona che guarda su Vieste.

La Funzione protettiva e preveggente del Gargano ha contribuito ad una persistenza di mentalità mitica che affida al soprannaturale.
Questo enorme massiccio montuoso di natura carsica – con le sue grotte, voragini e foreste si protende sull’Adriatico per circa 65 km. Per i suoi caratteri fisici è stato sin dall’antichità – secondo una costante geografica di fenomenologia delle religioni sede particolarmente ricettiva di miti profetici e culti messianici. Questi hanno dato vita a pellegrinaggi, al viaggio dell’eroe ma con natura e funzione comunitaria - non in momenti solenni, non in un tempo o spazio sacro, non secondo un ordine prestabilito e una priorità in relazione al grado di fede, di bisogno o di compenso.
In una interrotta continuità si sono succeduti verso la montagna sacra mutando i destinatari : dalle divinità pagane – Calcante Podalirio - ai santi cristiani, da s. Michele a padre Pio che sembrano aver ereditato la funzione protettiva e pre – veggente, rinnovandola nei contenuti. Non nelle forme.
Ogni accadimento viene mitizzato come evento meraviglioso inserito nel quotidiano. Non può esserci posto per il caso: è l’intervento divino a garantirlo. la storia individuale e quella collettiva è un duplice legame tra l’atto sospeso invocato e quello raccontato e pubblicamente testimoniato.
Le testimonianze, le storie qui non sono più lineari, allineate: s’incrociano, s’intrecciano, si sovrappongono, si fondono e possono anche alternarsi interrompersi e riprendersi.
L’esperienza del viaggio attraverso il pellegrinaggio è più storia di funzioni e significati che di fasi e di forme, come la storia dei fenomeni e dei prodotti folclorici artistici e architettonici: segni tangibili delle tappe di un viaggio.response / report this review -
