My fiancee and I booked a private tour in September with Florence by Bike at the recommendation of his parents who had also had a great experience with this company a year prior. We had a wonderful English-speaking guide who took us to places you could only reach with a local (including the best locals only lunch spot with a selection of meats, cheeses and wine that were all delicious). The hills were more challenging than I expected, but our guide did a wonderful job of making sure to keep his pace aligned with ours, so I felt very safe and comfortable for the whole ride.

I would highly recommend using this company for any bike tour - great family-run company with wonderful service and bikes. We personally loved the private tour as it allowed us to customize the ride.

Super helpful staff. With bikes and gear but also with Maps and recommendations for self guided tours. We went to Greve and back through the Tuscan countryside. Highly recommend.

by far, the worst service i could have imagined. absolutely rude and unhelpful. we landed from canada and went straight there with our bikes hoping to buy a few parts (roughly 500$ worth) and asked if we might also use the wide open space at the back of their store to assemble our boxed bikes. we only needed 20 mins. the store was empty. they refused. i ended up buying the one urgent thing i needed to actually build the bike and decided to take the rest of my business elsewhere. my boyfriend and i built our bikes on the street outside their store while they watched. do not go here, if you can avoid it. mean-spirited, unhelpful and shameful representations for the cycling community.

My wife and I decided to go for a ride one day during our trip to Florence since the weather was so nice. Florence by Bike was recommended to us and they were great. They upgraded us to nicer bikes for free and the bikes we used were in great condition. We had a great ride and the price was really cheap. We would definitely use them again to rent bikes. I would be very interested in one of their longer tours based on how helpful and friendly their staff was with us. They also all spoke English so that was helpful too.

I was very excited to rent a bike for my last weekend in Florence but was unfortunately disappointed. When I first entered the store I wasn't greeted in the most welcoming way. I soon got over their lack in hospitality but about an hour into my ride I got a very upsetting surprise. I'm 4 feet 9 inches and am used to having to get a smaller sized bike much like I have in the past. I received a child's bike and was completely okay with that, however I expected their expertise to at least give me a comfortable seat. Unfortunately, I received not only a small seat but a boys seat; I'm a 21 year old female. As you can imagine it made my biking experience unbearable. As I said earlier I was really looking forward to my bike ride around Florence but was unfortunately disappointed in my rental experience.

I have rented from them twice and both times it was a wonderful experience. I rented a road bike both times and they had the perfect bike for me. They also put the proper toe clips on for my shoes and suggested several routes. I would highly recommend them!

One of the best places in the area to buy a bike, racing or off-road or just casual. Large assortment of bikes and accessories and a staff of cyclists and mechanic who enjoy discussing different options and don't try to sell you on the more expensive ones. I bought a great mountain bike, shoes, and was fully set up to fit. Great find and close to center of town.

One of the best place for bike lovers.
If you want to rent a bike it's a good choice and they rent/sell brompton and other folding bikes.
The staff is super friendly.

Rented a very nice road bike for a longer day tour in the Chianti region (40 miles). The bike was in great condition. The mechanic changed the pedals for the types of cleats I brought and did a quick look-over before I took it out. The owner (I think) was really helpful with creating 3 different routes I could take in the area to cater to what I was looking for. He gave me maps and helped highlight trips/destinations.

The route I ended up on was just the right difficulty and was an "unforgettable experience" as the other reviewer put it. Unfortunately weather cut my ride short, but I have no doubt that the other routes he pointed out would have been even better than what I rode.

The cost was around $46 euro for the day and included a helmet, lock, pump, and spare tire. I looked at their rental bikes for a decent amount of time while they were helping another customer and they looked to be in pretty good shape.

NOTE: Their shop moved down the street and it looks like it expanded. 54/r if I recall
