Last week we enjoyed vacation with our children in Athenee Palace Hotel. Very nice resort, clean rooms, tasty food, helpful personnel and nice and clean pools. We would like to thank especially to Francesco for his willingness and care during lunch and dinner.
Beach - clean, sand on beach but bit rocky when entering sea, shoes are necessary and can be bought in shop in hotel if needed. There are much more better beaches in Italy, but definitely it is not that bad as described in some of other reviews.
Pools - very nice, clean and warm water (not salty).
Location - This is a Hotel resort around 5km for nearest village, so there is no night life and nowhere to walk, what on one hand is disadvantage but on other hand is advantage if You have small children or want to stay in quiet place. Bus goes twice a day to Cefalu if needed, return ticket for 6EUR.
Rooms - clean, with air conditioning, safe, minibar refilled every second day with all inclusive program.
Food - very tasty (we are not used to eat seafood, so can't rate that) , during dinner also cakes are available. Once a week traditional Sicilian kitchen is served (more sea food).
Shopping - There is one shop with souvenirs, beach shoes, etc. in hotel.
Remarks - it looks the magnetic door opening cards are sensitive to mobile phone signal, so when put into the same pocket it may get "erased", so You may need to visit reception to fix it.
Ultra All inclusive program - not everything is included, especially the more expensive and branded beverages, only one or two from a kind. It is sufficient because this only affects drinks , but I would recommend to advertise this in more convenient way, otherwise You need to read the menu an look for square mark.
Medical care - we were informed that there is a doctor available on call (80EUR charge). Pharmacy is in nearest village.response / report this review -

Fabulous location set in such pretty grounds the gardens are so beautiful! Love the 3 beautiful pools and the staff are so friendly food is good the sunsets are amazing and i would strongly recommend the place to anyone

We stayed in the tree 24 to 31 July 2016, it was a wonderful holiday full of fun and good food. terrific animation, Klizia Princes and a real sympathy cyclone, Roberta real talent, sweet, patient and very good Ottavio Cetty Claudia Luca Brayan Jerome Federico what about the splendid Luciano lifeguard. Bar great, very trained and amenable stands talented our favorite bartender Antonella OF Fiore, in short, a perfect holiday.
Certainly the animation and kitchen are the strengths, the organization politeness and helpfulness are certainly no less; all good

It's a lovely clean hotel,staff are ok but not very helpful at times.food is great.however there is nothing what so ever to do if you want to have a walk outside so you are stuck to the hotel.
