Excellent monument of medieval Norman culture and architecture. Although too few of original interiors survived inside. Visitors are allowed to take non commercial photo without flash light. It is worth to buy a ticket and visit tombs of Norman Kings and Emperor Frederick II of Holy Roman Empire, museum and roof of Cathedral.

Thanks to one of the male staff there for giving me the WORST experience in Palermo! The roof is open till 3:30pm, I arrived at 3:05 and but the male staff tell me it’s too late, I should arrive here earlier before 3pm. This is completely nonsense. They still sell set ticket at 2:50. After I visit the treasure chapel and tombs, the same staff who sold that ticket to me tell me it’s impossible to get in! Then why you sell the ticket to me? That male staff make me spent 5 Euro for nothing!

Interesting architecture on the outside. Internally as everyone says it's pretty sparse and reminiscent of a lot of other churches around the world. I think it's a good place to remind you of the reason that the other churches in the city with their unique styles are to be celebrated so much. One really interesting thing about this cathedral which no one ever mentioned in any reviews or guidebooks is the meridian on the floor in front of the altar. Atsolar noon the sun shines in an opening and illuminates the current zodiac sign

Worth walking past, no need to visit.
A moderately interesting exterior, with a mix of architectural styles. Some parts nice others not. The interior is big. That's about it though, poorly decorated and in a mediocre state of repair.response / report this review -

A beautiful from the outside. The sun make it looks so bright. Inside is not something extraordinary but still interesting to spare time for a walk around. There is no entry fee.

The outside looks very Arabic and Norman, but the inside is clearly baroque. It contains the the tomb of Frederic II

Nice to see from outside by night or day, nothing crazy to see inside but still interesting to walk around. Check the history online before to enjoy a more interesting visit!
