Very well organised spot with great restaurant in amazing location. Lots of stuff to do in the area in walking distance. Not everything to everyone but I don't understand any of the -bad- ratings here. As a camping spot for a family who want to spend a few days in this area, or even active people looking for a comfortable base for some of the many attractions in the area, this place really is excellent. We loved it.

Assessing with only two stars is harsh, please let me explain:

Pro:
• Pretty nice location directly at the lake with a beautiful mountain view.
• Once there was a really pleasant and helpful girl at the reception who gave us some good recommendations on regional hiking trails. So far so good.

Cons:
• Prices are way too high. We paid around 75€ for two persons in a tent for two nights.
• The other reviews were quite suitable: The son of the owner is an unfriendly dude who didn’t make us feel welcome at all. When we asked for the regional hiking map he made some stupid joke –telling us they ran out of them- and we were recommend to get ourselves a map a the local tourist information in Toblach (4km from the Campground).
• There are not enough restrooms and showers for a campground of this size
• Be careful when it comes to the check-out. We were charged a bill which was to high – only after doing the math with the owner himself we were given the correct invoice.
• Last but not least: There was only one method of payment accepted – which was cash! Although I have been calling Camping Toblach beforehand to ask if they accept card payment (“Yes, we do!”) neither my ATM card nor my credit was accepted on our day of departure (supposedly their card-reader unit wasn’t working…maybe it’s just them bristling to pay the fees). When I offered to do an online money transfer because I didn’t have enough cash with me this was refused as well. Instead we were required to get to the next ATM in Toblach – again 4km back and forth. Finally, there was absolutely no reply on my e-mail when I asked to at least reimburse the banking fees for making an international withdrawal.

Mr. Panzenberger – Junior and Senior- you guys have to become a lot more customer focused. Honestly, it can be so easy!

I was there in 2013 with tour of 40 poeple. Reception staff was very unwilling and it was very hard to deal with them. Final price was higher than arranged one during booking.

This review isn't for the campsite, but for the lake itself.

Part of what makes this area of Italy is the beautiful scenery that you can see on the drive. The lake is gorgeous. Clean, crystal water. Well worth walking around to enjoy the nature.
