Off the tourist track a little but a great day out. Absolutely loads of animals and all look very well looked after. The ticket booths work on a "take a number system" just remember to grab a number and look at the screens above the ticket booth if don't speak Italian. We went September 17, wouldn't recommend using the toilets in the zoo, would try and go somewhere before hand, they can be unpleasant.
A nice array of animals. Most of the enclosures are situated so you get a good view. A great place to spend an afternoon or a day. The reptile house has more than just reptiles.
Wonderful zoo full of clean spacious animal exibits. Easy to follow flow and maps. Very clean, multiple entrances and clean bathrooms. Good choices for wallet friendly food an beverages. Multilingual staff are friendly and informative. 19 Euro per adult.
A lovely zoo to visit for a really good price. Visited towards the end of November and the park was very quiet which was a brilliant experience. Animals were well looked after and there was plenty to see.
Lovely zoo. Enclosures were really clean and animal welfare looked good. Great to see species that I've never seen before.
Closest I've so ever seen a tiger, snow leopard and lions.
Great break from crowds - even for a family with teenagers. Well worth an hour or two if you're sick of ancient Roman ruins.
The zoo is fine, we went on a weekday and it was very quiet. It's nice to wander in a zoo with very few people around. They probably knew this would happen, because a lot of the zoo shops/cafe's weren't open. Just one in the park itself and one at the entrance.
The zoo is sized just right, not too big so it gets tiring and not too small so it you'd be out in no time. It is laid out well so you don't have be going back and forth to see everything. Beware that a lot of attractions and exhibits are closed in winter (penguins, alligators were absent). None of the catering places inside the part worked, save for the occasional vending machines. There were no animal shows going on either.
The exhibits at this this zoo were fun and informative. The animals seemed to be treated well, and there were lots of opportunities to see them in their enclosures. There were lots of trees which provided nice opportunities for shade breaks. Be aware that you can't take the rented bicycles into the zoo.
Enclosures are large with good room for the animals to roam. Good selection of animals to see too. Only down side is that it closes at 5 and not 6 like the website says and the reptile house closes at 4. Over all it's good way to spend an afternoon.
