Hotel good food good service good bar poor 9 euros for a gin and tonic 6 euros for a small beer 33cl a complete rip off
When we booked the hotel everything was about the beauty, closeness to Taormina and the high standards of it; however since the moment one it was a complete disapointment . The hotel is old, walls are falling a part, smells cigarettes at the corridor and our bathroom had wet and black spots on the ceiling. Breakfast makes you feel you are back to teenager camps; a lot of people, no care with the food, no fresh fruits, coffee from machines The view is nice and the bed is ok. I don't recommend it
Stunning views of bay. Private beach. 2 pools. As its low season here, we are the only people on the beach today. Sunny &/warm helps as well. Stunningly beautiful.
Awful, outdated hotel. Everything here is rusty and with mold. Breakfast is poor and not good at all. The staff in the reception not pleasant at all and with out any will to assist us.
Two nice pools: shallow one warms quickly and is just deep enough to swim in; but you need confidence for the deep pool (it has no shallow end!). There's nowhere to walk on site except up and down the short drive - the main road is far too dangerous for pedestrians. A courtesy bus can be booked for visits to town or the allocated beach. Lots of steps within the hotel buildings, giving character but not good if you've got mobility problems. Restaurant waiting staff were a bit cool towards our group to start with. Try to keep your own record of drinks bill because the chits they write are not legible if you want to check them. Try to converse with the staff in Italian - they really like it and will encourage you.
Cortesia infinita. Pulizia, silenzio e relax.
Ottimo!
This hotel is stuck in the 80's and not in a retro way. The 4 star rating seems very generous and the pricing is way too high for what you get. This place needs major renovation from top to bottom. Rooms are tired and whilst generally clean there were some stains on the curtains and marks on the walls in our room. The furniture is very dated and sparse. Air con is basic and wifi is very poor. Many other reviews talk about the quality of the staff however my wife and I found them quite rude and unhelpful at times. The food was so bad at breakfast on the first day we didn't eat it again. It smelt weird (like disinfectant) and the chef couldn't cook eggs properly. Given the price of the dinner (which only appeared to be a buffet), we opted to go out for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. In fact we generally stayed away from the hotel. It was lucky we had a car as the location is secluded, nothing much you can walk to. Unfortunately the hotel lacks sufficient amenities to keep you there, meaning you need to leave everyday and the seclusion isn't a plus. They do offer a shuttle but we had a hire car so didn't use it. They also offer excursions, which appear to be popular with the over 65's. The hotel is up on a cliff beside the sea with a road and a train track in between. There is some rudimentary beach access but loungers and umbrellas are located a mile down the road where you have to pay €5 to park the car the place looks rough (big concrete wall covered in graffiti and some rusty old railings) and isn't on site. I've seen the hotel manager respond to reviews saying this is temporary, however those reviews are 6+ months old and the beach directly below the hotel shows no signs of having had any amenities, there also appears to be no work being undertaken. We simply drove 5 minutes around the corner where the beach is free, there is a nice snack and coffee bar and the parking is free. The hotel puts on "entertainment" every night, so if you enjoy hearing someone with a heavy Italian accent singing bad cover versions of 30 year old pop music this is the place to be (think Butlins in the 80's). It goes on until 12, so don't expect an early night as you can hear it in the rooms. Proximity to Etna is not a plus given the wealth of alternative hotels in the area. Etna is about 1hr away by car (take warm clothes as the weather is totally different up top). Syracuse is about 1 and a half hours by car. The Alcantara Gorge is about 45 mins by car. Lastly, this place isn't easy to find (not on Garmin sat nav). No local signs pointing to it.
Very friendly staff, large balcony with an incredible view! totally worth the money! the tv could be a bit bigger apart from that it is a very nice and welcoming hotel!
Tout simplement le meilleur hotel de toute la Sicile. Merci à Anna Lisa et à tout le personnel ! Excursions possibles depuis l'hotel pour les éoliennes le soir stand pasta et stand grillades. Piscine d eau de mer !
