One of the true highlights of my trip to Iceland was the whale watching tour we took with Whale Watching Hauganes. The staff are very knowledgeable, and set expectations on what might be seen in the water on that day. Not only did we see a Humpback, but the boat's expert captain took us in so close that it was breathtaking, and we got the chance to try some fishing at the end of the trip. There is also homemade treats and coffee throughout the boat journey. Highly highly highly recommended for anyone.

The boat is not fast enough to approach whales on time but I think this is proper way to approach whales but not to scare them. In addition, captain and guide are nice and good at searching whales and we saw almost 20 whales. We also got excellent cods as our dinner, the tour is highly recommend.

Fantastic trip, whales were just few meters from our boat. In the end we can angling a fish we cooked three hours later for dinner.

Great small family owned company, great whale watching trip yesterday and some really nice fishing on the way back. Tonight we eat the cod we catch! Highly recommended amongst the other more 'commercial big businesses'

Great and nice staff, lots of explanations given while waiting the whales to show up. Only takes 15 to 20 minutes to get to the seeing spot. Choices between only whale watching or whale watching and fishing. Alot of timetables available and 10% discounts if booked online. Same price but last 1/2 hrs is for fishing only. Whale guaranteed but not the success of fishing. Few people could still get a fish and the captain clean it and you can take it away to cook later. They attract bird with the fish rest to see them closer.

We toured the whole country, and this was really one of the best things we did. The boats are not too big, and our learned guide was great at explaining the different kinds of whales, how to recognize them, and when to see them. They provided us with overalls for warmth, flotation (in case), and water protection, and we even got to fish for a while at the end of the trip. Not only did we all catch some cod, but the captain gutted them and gave them to us to take home and eat. There was even coffee and home-made pastries served on the boat (included). Well worth it!

Near to the point where whales roam, in only 15 minutes we were rounded by three or four of them. After two hours of joy, they let us catch some cods. As a plus the boat was beautiful.

The staff are very friendly, they have good snacks, offer fishing after the whale watching and we got to keep some of the fish! Also, we saw quite a few whales and the captain seemed to know exactly where to go to find them. The price was also pretty good and they have a 10% discount for booking online.

We took a 3 hour Whale watching trip on the ship called Niels Jónsson with Whale watching Hauganes. Our guide was an American marine biologist on his first day and he did an awesome job at explaining everything to us. We saw lots of whales close up and did some fishing (which was ridiculously easy, I caught a huge cod). There was also hot coffee and cakes on board.
    Well recommended to anyone.

One of the best experiences in Iceland. Saw a lot of whales, having a hot coffee on board Niels Jonsson. At my next trip to Iceland and Hauganes, i will come again for sure.
