Had no clue this waterfall even existed until driving towards Vik and noticed it on the map as we drove by.
Its a very easy quick stop. Very glad we checked it out, you can view the falls from the parking lot and there is a short, unpaved walking path to view from other angles as well.
(There was a gentleman in a wheelchair going down the path and he was not having any issues)
Road there is a little rough but we did not have any issues in our very small, not 4x4 rental car.response / report this review -

Our trip to Iceland was a travel package that included a self-guided tour to many of the South-East landmarks. We had found on a day that we would be passing this waterfall twice. It was a no-brainer to not stop.

A very surprising find. I didn't actually planned to visit this place, but was looking for a place with parking to have lunch. The waterfall here is of a lesser scale compared to gullfoss, nonetheless it was a beautiful sight. There are 2 benches there to sit and picnic. It's just 3 minutes by car from the main road.

A stunning sight, and only just off the main road. Please be warned that a 4x4 or any non city car would be needed to avoid any intense worries, there is a hefty hill that can get rather icy that may stop you from leaving the area! The falls are incredibly, creating an amazing sound and sight. A very well maintained footpath will take you to some great viewpoints just beyond the small car park/turning circle. Highly recommend a visit if you can spare ten minutes or so.

Simply spectacular!!!! This may be the most powerful waterfall we got to see in Iceland. Incredible. You could actually feel the force of the water as you came close to the edge. The day we were there was very cold, so after a few photos, I couldn't feel my hands, but it was worth it.

What an amazing waterfall! So glad we saw it before going back. Easy to get to from route 1 and not many visitors. A wild and strong waterfall not that high. Good views over the river and falls from car park and viewing area. Definitely worth a visit.

One of the most underrated of the foss's in southern icelandic area. It is a wide river with cascades of falls across the width of itdef worth a stop

Very nice waterfall, with the most water volume per second of Iceland in springtime. Directly next to the highway, but the highway traffic is invisible from the viewpoints! Stunning view with beautiful sun overhead at 11 AM in October.

Surprisingly, a lot of water. Like Gulfoss, only at 1:4 scale. Tourists at 1:40 scale of Gulfoss, which makes the 1km detour off of Route 1 very worthwhile.

Very picturesque waterfall just off the main highway. More like a series of low waterfalls that resemble rapids. Very beautiful.

A cool small waterfall on the way to see the big ones. Right off the main road so it's easy to get to and there isn't a lot of walking needed to see the falls from where you park.

Just off Route 1. Well worth a quick visit. Very quiet area. Road is bumpy down to the parking area. Not as spectacular as other Waterfalls but the power of the water in the area is interesting to witness.
