The food was 5/5. We had the tapas plate for starter - was an amazing experience with 4 different small courses from the menu, everything was delicious. We then had the lamb, it was also amazing.

The service on the other hand, was sadly a 2/5. We ordered the starter first and after being done had to wait for a while and finally call the waiter in order to order the main course (we were not waited). That was somewhat peculiar, even more so the fact that we were not waited on the rest of the time and therefore did not get a chance to order more wine. The waitress came around and just took our empty glasses without asking anything, just as we got the main course.

Shame that the overall experience is weighed down by the service when the food was so good. Would still recommend this place!!

Had a fabulous meal of a tapas style tasting platter for starter (min. 2 persons), of smoked salmon with hazelnuts, fish stew (salt cod and creamed potatoes), tender beef rib and rocket salad, confit of duck with orange segment, and followed up by an outrageously good bernaisse burger and crispy fries. The staff were very friendly and we sat near the kitchen for a great brasserie experience. The smells from the kitchen were beautiful. Prices are very competitive against other local restaurants, so wholeheartedly recommended on all counts. Thanks guys. We will be back soon.

Misleading advertisements are the hallmark of Staff Restaurant. Save your money for a better restaurant and eat elsewhere. Reykjavik is filled with great restaurants, and this is not one of them.

Good burgers. Although there was a misunderstanding with our table, they could find a place for us. Price ok to be Reykjavik.

We loved this restaurant. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The first time we went, we had the salmon. It was fresh and perfectly prepared.

Our second visit was really memorable. We tasted the steak- flavorful and tender. We also had the fish stew-a traditional Icelandic dish, more like fish mash. It's made with cod, mash potatoes and seasoned perfectly. The ending was a basil creme brûlée!

The restaurant is warmly decorated. The chef and sous chef and waitperson made us feel like family. A great dinning experience!

Can't wait to go back. Linda and Fred, Arlington, VA.
