My diving experience was not as expected. I was lead to believe, by advertisements, that you could touch the plates. They are miles apart, so this is impossible. At first, the experience was cool, but then it just felt like I froze my hands and face off to look at rocks. It's a unique experience and worth doing once, but only once.

I went diving at Silfra during my trip to Iceland and it was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had traveling. I wore a wet suit (prepare for very cold water) and spent about 35 minutes in the water. The views were incredible. Crystal clear water dropping roughly 200ft as you swim in between two tectonic plates.

Easily the best part of my Iceland trip. Simply stunning.

Dayan our guide made us feel very comfortable. We were cozy warm in our wetsuits and the dive is just incredible. Water is best I've ever drank. Fill up your water bottles after the dive.

It was fun seeing people try it out. The water is really very clear and you could see all the way to the bottom. People who have a fear of heights do take note, I saw one or 2 people freaked out when they saw the bottom. But with the help of the guides, they made it out. Personally, I feel that snorkelling there is a bit too expensive for me.

Well organised. Good experience if you have never been snorkeling before. Not recommend if you want to see life or fish. My dry suit legs leaked so I got very cold quickly in 2 degrees. Nice cup of hot chocolate at the end.

I was kind of nervous about snorkelling in Silfra in the winter but I'm very glad I did it. Chris out guide was fantastic. Unfortunately my dry suite leaked a bit but it was still wonderful. The water clarity was amazing and tasted amazing. The cold was pretty intense but for the short while I was in there it wasn't too bad. I would really recommend doing this if you get the chance. Kind of fun putting on all their dry suit gear as well. It's very warm.

Great experience and guides! They took the time to explain everything well and to dress us up for the cold water. During the snorkeling trip the guide gave us information about the area water and rock formations. Afterwards we regained some energy with hot chocolate and cookies.

This was on my bucket list. I snorkeled it rather than diving it due to some time constraints. Let me say that a dry suit is much more difficult to put on than panty hose on a hot, humid day. Fortunately the guides are there to help you. The water was crystal clear and quite refreshing. You are encouraged to drink it and it is literally the best water you will ever put in your mouth. If you go all the way to Iceland put this on your to do list.

We went with dive.is in late December. There were a lot of people so it took a while to get everybody dressed in their gear and there was quite a line to get in the water so we were _very_ cold before we got in the water.
The water is drinkable spring water and visibility is great, or it should be. As snorkels towards the end of the end of the snorkeling trail kick up silt, the visibility gets slightly less stellar.

You have to be crazy to have the courage to snorkel between 2 continental plateswather have 5 degrees temperature.but the suite keeps you warm

The best experience in my life. There is no need to be afraid of the cold water, the moment in put your face inside the water will be magical and you won't even remember the cold. Amazing team, great explanations about the area and formation, I just loved it so much. Don't forget to bring very thick socks, mine were not warm enough haha can't wait to go again, this time with a GoPro.

A truly incredible experience - expensive, but worth it. We went with Dive.IS - so our review is on that particular outfit.

The guide was fantastic (can't recall her name, but she was a British national who lived in Iceland - if you read this know that you're awesome!) - we also interacted with a Dutch guide and Peruvian guide, who were fantastic as well; I don't know if there's anywhere else in the world where you can actually do something like this (snorkel/dive between two dividing continental plates), but being able to experience it is pretty darn cool and unique; the water is freezing but you honestly don't really feel it (the dry-suits do their job very well); the hot chocolate and biscuits afterwards are a nice touch as well. A couple of things to note:

- You don't need to be a great swimmer to do this - if you can keep yourself above water in a swimming pool then you're equipped to enjoy this (your dry-suit honestly makes it impossible for you to sink, unless you let all the air out of it);

- The water IS clean enough to drink (I sampled it and it was delicious), and as clear as any you'll see anywhere in the world (I grew up in the Bahamas, spending much of my time under the water - I am fortunate enough to know what crystal clear water looks like and the water in Silfra is as clear as anything anywhereit's like floating in a valley flooded with ice-cold filtered water);

- The colors are awesome! While you don't get wild-life (which is nice for anyone afraid of underwater creatures - you can enjoy the diving without being nervous), you do get incredibly vibrant shades of blue and green.

- it is EXPENSIVE (just like most things in Iceland); we did a couple of other tours, and this was our favorite. Skip the blue-lagoon, and spend your $ here instead (though this is more expensive than that). It's a once in a life-time experience, which is really cool to have under your proverbial belt.

RECOMMENDATION: don't make customers pay $ for the photos taken during the tour. We all know that it doesn't cost y'all anything to store those digitally, and with the amount people pay to take the tour it'd be great if you'd allow them access to the photos for free. This was the only disappointing thing about our experience.

Surreal experience to float around in the ice cold water with such crystal clear views. Pictures can be bought (relatively) cheaply at the end of the tour. Definitely recommended!

Dove with Dive.IS in February 2016 and had a great time. Be aware that the rules for diving have been changed by the Icelandic government. Divers must have a rating for dry suit before they can dive this site. Be sure to check with the company before you travel and be sure you have the correct credentials in place. The site is amazing and Dive.IS did a great job. Thanks to Thomas and his crew for a wonderful day. The water was a degree or two above freezing.

Oh my god what should I say about snorkeling . it was breathtaking. We decidet to wear wetsuit instead of drysuits and it was the best decision. You are more free and can dive down but of course you get wet and cold but i was so worth it.

We took pictures during our dive that look more like skydiving pictures. The clear water was unbelievable. Our guides (call out to CJ and Steve) were amazing, they took care of all gear prep and let us just enjoy the experience. They where extremely friendly and went above and beyond to help our group. I truly can't say enough good about this.

Yes I did it! Diving in between the tectonic plates of Americas and Eurasia in the Silfra lake in Iceland. The water was about freezing temperature. A stunning experience in the most pure water in the world. I can absolutely recommend this to everyone!

If you're an adventurer you must do this in Iceland, it's really cool to see the tectonic plates in crystal clear water. We had to change in the coach and put on dry suit in the windy and cold weather then waited for an hour to get into the water as it was a busy day, but it's worth it. Our guy Richard was excellent, kept us entertained the whole time and made sure that we're all ok before going into the water.
