This is where the only sea battle of the country’s history took place and that was in 1244. Off of the main highway 745 is a landmark board and that is where you can read about the history of the battle and this site. You get a good view of the surrounding area from that spot, as well, but in order to go down to the cove and be at water level, you must travel a little further north and take a right turn. Follow the dirt road all the way to the cove. On a sunny day, the water is bluer than any ocean I've ever seen. You can walk all around the cove and up on the ridge overlooking the Atlantic. Amazing views! One of the most peaceful and tranquil spots to go to.
