The ruins themselves are pretty interesting. But you should definetly park at the first parking lot, even though you may think the road continues. It's a very rough sand/rock road and it will bring you no closer. You will have problems returning.
Also, the path to the ruins isn't clear anymore, which leads to walking through vegetation.
I'm sure it's nice, but couldn't see it. The road was in such an awful condition, that it was only passable with a 4X4.
Interesting old fishing village. Rough road.
Gorgeous.
Not many ruins left. The path to the ruins needs some love.
Thought provoking ruins of a medieval fishing village. What really set this apart from other Icelandic attractions was that we were the only souls around.
Cool spot to visit for a quick hike. Trail can be hard to keep track of but the ruins are pretty obvious. Saw fox tracks while I was there too! I took my 2WD (unknowingly) down the 4x4 track and made it ok, just had to go slow.
Great ruins! It's a little bit of a hike but once you find the trail, it's worth it. Trail leaves off the parking lot, which takes you right there, or you can follow the 4x4 track, which is a little harder to find.
Weird, rough place.
To get there take a road for 4wd-vehicles down to the ruins on the coast from the road to Isolfsskali.
