Restaurant Mika

Cafe Mika is located in the center of the geothermal area where the mountains and meadows reign the landscape. Hot springs, geysers, volcanoes, powerful waterfalls and glacial rivers are myriad. Adventure awaits for travellers around every corner.

We would like to invite you to take culinary journey in our restaurant and to try our famous handmade pralines. Come in, make yourself at home and enjoy contemporary food in relaxed atmosphere. We pride ourselves in preparing creative courses and we always put the wow factor on the plate.

We use local ingredients.

First of all – fish. Fish are famous in Iceland for their amazing taste and crispy freshness.

There are plenty of farms in our neighborhood. We buy fresh fruit and vegetables from the local farmers throughout the year.
Icelandic milk and dairy products are famous in the world for their taste and quality. Would you care to guess why? Because our cows are fed on clean grass, clean air and beautiful views.

Have you ever wondered how important is water for cooking? Well, very. Iceland has been blessed with the cleanest water melted from glaciers. It has a unique flavor and makes the food taste amazing.

Sheep in Iceland enjoy freedom in mountains. They are happy and that is why Icelandic lamb is so delicious .

In the neighboring town people are growing bananas. Really. Unfortunately, no cocoa is grown in Iceland. But it doesn’t stop us for looking for the finest ingredients to make our chocolates. Always. Period
