First time riders - we loved our time with the horses! Definitely a highlight of our Iceland trip. We booked 1.5 hour tour through email, and staff was really responsive. Would recommend. The treats at the end were a nice touch too.

We called up on the way in the morning and booked one hour riding for the same afternoon. Icelandic horses were small but gave very smooth riding, we went up to waterfall area, enjoyed great view. A lady who escorted us was kind and explained about horse habit and icelandic sheep farming, very interesting. She took a lovely photo of us on horses during rest. Tea time was a good way to wrap up after riding, cookies were baked by local lady and horse farm family.

Brilliant facility, highly recommend to those whom want to try away from the main tourist trip hubs. The staff are dedicated, the horses were very comfortable and placid, incredible views during the ride and the cookies and coffee afterwards were spot on. 10/10.

As an absolute beginner its quite a comfortable start. The horses feel very well trained and the environment is good to start with. We took the 2 hour one. They also provide longer tours or tours for more experienced riders.

Good to know. If you are accompanied by a more experienced rider (like my gf) he/she will be allowed to ride ahead on some areas.

They have delicious cake in the end!

Our 2 hour horse ride was a blast! Our guide was fantastic and the scenery was beautiful. Definitely do this if you're in the area.

We had a great time at Polar Hestar. The guide was very polite and was very conscientious of our inexperience. We had showed up and setup a trail ride for later in the afternoon. Even though it was one of the shorter rides, the view was beautiful going up the mountains. Definitely worth the short drive from Akureyri.

Unfortunately we were not able to go for a ride. We had a reservation made one day before, but we had to cancel it 30 minutes before. The hostess had no problem with that and still kept very friendly. So even we did not had a ride, it was for us a good experience!

We took our four children to Polar horses for an hour ride. The service was friendly and smooth and the kids were very happy with the adventure. Afterwards we were offered refreshments. Very relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Thanks!
