Delicious fresh fish, beautiful playing, and a great caring service. Impeccable value for what you're getting - cheapest meal we've had in Iceland yet a fine dining meal. A homey style Cafe

The food is amazing!!! The portion, service, price, food presentation is definitely a 10/10 in my books. The staffs are very professional. If you are in town, do order their vegetable soup and fish soup, you won't regret it! Lovely environment too. Definitely compliments to the chef and the team. Well done!

Most excellent! Service was fantastic and food was even better. We ordered the fish soup and the soup of the day (broccoli and cauliflower). Hands down best soups we have had in Iceland so far. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Food was great. Had fish and chips (excellent, not greasy at all). Wife had fish soup and salad. The fish soup was very tasty. Would definitely recommend Matarlist.

Great new place with farm to table food. Everything was fresh and tasted amazing. The skyr was amazing and tasted better than anywhere else I've had it.

Incredible service, with outgoing and personable staff. They made us feel like welcome guests, almost as if we were invited to dine with their family.
I ordered the fish soup, as I had a long day and was not craving anything too heavy.
The latte I ordered was spot on, and served with an option of different sugars on the side.
First they brought out fresh homemade bread, served alongside locally crafted butter infused with herbs and garlic. It was the greatest tasting butter I've had in a very long time.
When my soup arrived, it was served hot and had the perfect balance of flavours. The tomato and cream were blended with skill, as there was absolutely no curdling. The salt used couldn't have been measured any better, it was pleasing to the palate without leaving anything to be desired. The spices were just enough to accentuate the seafood, without anything feeling overpowered. It also brought warmth to the body as it had been a day full of wet and cold winds. I could think of nothing a local would enjoy more after a long day of work outdoors, than this meal.
Did I mention everything is fresh daily, with locally sourced products? Hands down the best meal I've had in Iceland all week.

This was one of the best meals we have eaten all week. Farm to table are the guiding principles. Everything was incredibly fresh and well prepared. The owner took excellent care of the details, it was a shame that we could only eat here once

The food here was wonderful! All home made items, even the bread and butter. We had the fish and chips and the Matarlist salad, the fish was so fresh and fried to perfection, the cured lamb of the Matalist salad was very flavorful and melt in your mouth perfect. Also the pickled veggies that are served with the dishes were excellent! It doesn't look like much from the outside of the building, but the decor inside is really nice, we truly enjoyed our dining experience!
