  This store doesn’t deserve a 1. Went in to buy a Christmas decoration to bring home. The decorations stocked by the store are not traditional to Iceland. Most are made in China and look like ex TK Maxx stock, not that there is anything wrong with TK Maxx, we wanted something a bit more unique.
  That was not what made our experience so unpleasant. As we were browsing the shopkeeper was sighing heavily for our benefit, portraying she was unhappy with us browsing.
  We were just a couple browsing as many others do, we didn’t even touch anything.
  It was getting very uncomfortable and we decide to leave the store, I apologised to the shopkeeper as I left.
  We did find another Christmas shop near hafnarstraeti street with very unique Christmas decorations and very friendly staff, who were happy to have customers.

  This is a lovely little Christmas themed shop with a wonderful selection of handmade and commercially produced items. If you would like Icelandic themed Christmas ornaments, cards, or table linens, this is the place for you. Staff were lovely and the cinnamon heart cookies were delicious. I found a sweet Icelandic horse ornament to commemorate my horseback tour.

  I too paid for two letters and small gifts for my grand children in Feb 2017. I was told they would arrive in late Nov or early Dec. Neither letter, or gift arrived. This was very disappointing as the women seemed genuine enough, but I suppose you can never tell, with some people.

  Outside this shop is a mailbox to Icelandic Santa. Step inside the shop and buy a form to fill out in order for Santa to write you back for $18 US . The cashier takes a carbon copy of the form and you put the original into the mailbox. Great surprise for loved ones during December when Santa writes you back with a small gift.

  Doesn't matter what time of the year it is, it always feels like Christmas in here. Pricey Christmas decorations but they are worth the look. Definitely better than decorations from a chain store. Letters to Santa box is outside.
