Amazing value for great swimming and hot soak. Top notch hospitality and local information, shout out to Solrun and Margret!
Giving it a 3 since it looks like they are closed but I managed to snap some pictures and would have been nice to be able to use this pool.
Really nice location, but I give three stars for the price versus quality. The water was not clean, hot pot was not cleaned for a long time.
Excellent relaxing time for a cheap price (1000 isk / pers). Not crowded and authentic hot bath. Highly recommended!
Lýsuhólslaug is a pool with very special water. It's slightly carbonated mineral water and there is a lot of green algae (chlorella) in it as well. It's wonderful to relax in the warm water, especially if you rent a float cap! You can also buy ice cream and eat it in the pool.
The pool is only open over the summer and the staff is always more than ready to help you and answer your questions!
Favorite pool of Iceland ring road trip-other places we went to was myvatn nature baths and Hofn swimming pool. Liked that it was much less crowded, very peaceful, and very natural mineral water with green algae it's the green lagoon. The bottom is slippery but that was quite fun and they provide pool noodles to float around. There's also 2 hot tubs of different temperature. By reception they offer free coffee and cold water as well.
It's a little bit hidden as there's a school attached to it but you'll see other cars in the parking lot. It's only open in the summer months. Google maps doesn't show a road going to it but there is one with a sign!
Just great hot springs with 3 different pools filled with algae water. 1000/person, well worth it.
Great hot geothermal outdoor pool! Definitely worth a visit. 1000ISK per adult person.
Only open in June, July and August.
"Lýsuhólslaug is an extraordinary geothermal bath, filled with naturally hot mineral water. It is rich in green algae (chlorella) and various minerals and is thought to have a soothing and healing effect on the body."
