Very little in the way of artifacts, but the narrative of the man and Icelandic independence is presented very convincingly. We arrived late in the day and they stayed after closing for us. The church and turf houses on the property are also lovely, and there are washrooms.

Lovely little place, with a pretty church and a small museum with some traditional houses that are free to wander around. A small cafe if you want something to eat or drink.

The birthplace/museum of Jon Sigurdsson one of the most influential politicians in Iceland. He was the in the for front of the independence movement in Iceland in the 19th century. When in Reykjavik remember to see his statue in the Austurvollur square in front of the Icelandic parlament. It is not a big museum but it is in a beautiful area and well worth the visit on a beautiful day.
