I’m skeptical of hotel restaurants but this place was amazing. Tried the smoked puffin for an app and it was delicious — I have nothing to compare it to but I liked it a lot. The lamb was to die for; actually just melt in your mouth good. Staff was friendly, too!

Stumbled across this place and although it was empty thought the menu looked pretty good. Had the fish soup for starter lovely fresh fish but bland broth. Main was the lamb which was stunning in every way melted in your mouth and tasted Devine. The atmosphere was a little strange the waitress was cold and kind of unfriendly otherwise would have scored 4 stars .

I was pleasantly surprised by this place, since it's a hotel restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was great. This wasn't even the restaurant we were planning on going to, but since the first one wasn't open yet and we were hungry we stumbled across Fjalakötturinn and couldn't have been happier.
We also got drinks from Uppsalir, the bar in the hotel, during happy hour and were able to bring them into Fjalakötturinn with us, which was nice.response / report this review -

This place is cozy with great service. The tasting menu full of surprises . Enjoyed dinner here a lot.
