This place was overrated. It was essentially basic soft serve. The girls working there were kinda rude and snotty. We had heard how great it was so we definitely wanted to go but were kind of let down. It was not bad, but certainly not outstanding and definitely seemed over priced!

Overhyped place with average ice-cream. You can find this type of ice-cream in every other Icelandic town. Also, unnatural and unhealthy.

I was excited to try the shake ice cream but the lady decided to mix it up for about 2 seconds and we ended up with a weird vanilla ice cream with whole pieces of strawberry and chocolate.
If I wanted to have a vanilla ice cream with whole pieces of chocolate and strawberry I could have bought one from the supermarket and pay way less than the 1400 they charge.

I didn't care for the ice cream at Brynja. It's basically soft serve ice milk. The menu is available in Icelandic and English.

Famous ice cream, you should go there and try few of them. Prices are fair and you will remember the taste for a long time. Worth it.

Nice little ice cream place. Ice cream tasted ordinary but you have loads of toppings to choose from. We should have observed the locals before getting our ice cream. Quite popular with the locals and they mainly went for the shake style rather than just ice cream in a cone/cup (looked alot more interesting and tasty than our ice cream in a cup). Try the chocolate ice cream with licorice syrup. Not bad.

We were taken here by a tour guide and all four of us were angry that we waisted our time and money here. Expensive ($13 US for a cone and cup) and we didn't like it.

Soft serve ice cream. Vanilla or chocolate. Very cool because you could have it dipped in a variety of chocolate sauces that harden and rolled in a topping.
My friends loved it but I am just not a soft serve ice cream fan. Worth a try though!
Apparently it is the best known ice cream .. aka it's soft serve .. and made with mill and not cream

This is not only the ice-cream place Icelanders love or pretend not to love but also keeps a little of the 'neighbourhood merchant'-charm. Since I live nearby I go there for everything I might need. Once they were out of dishwashing brushes so the lady that works there early in the mornings gave me one. They are also very often full late in the evenings, even in the winter when it's freezing. Some days you'll be lucky to wait inside.

The ice cream is definitely creamier than the stuff we get in the US. We all found it really enjoyable and delicious. Plus there are SoOoOoOoo many topping options! It was all wonderful!

Delicious ice cream with plenty if topping choices. Just a short walk south from the center -about 15 minutes. If you have time, walk up to the botanical gardens to enjoy it.
