When we arrived there was no one home, though the neighbours seem to know each other and called them for us. The people were friendly, as were their 4 dogs! Showers available for free (only one) and very clean. Comfortable common room with kitchen and live music (the kids? like to sing and play guitar quite nicely).

We stayed in our last night in the middle of March. This is the campsite where we've seen the Northern Lights! Nice warm showers and clean toilet and wash area. Common room available until 10pm. Owner was supposed to charge us with our toddler but he didn't bother collecting the money in the end. Such nice accomodating owners. In the morning we roamed around the farm and felt pretty much at home.

Beautiful campsite with a view of the fjord. Facilities include a kitchen area, with a small shop selling farm produce and a bar. Only three toilets and one shower which could be a problem when it's busy in the summer, but with only a few campers it was fine. Price included shower (3000ISK for 2 people) which a lot of the other campsites charge extra for. Everything was clean and the two farm dogs were particularly friendly!

Stayed overnight in a rented camper van in their parking lot. We were arriving two hours after they closed, and called ahead and they said we could just pay in the morning. Very accommodating. Slightly hard to find, but so are a lot of places in Iceland.

This place is lovely! Only one shower, but it was very warm and strong and the floors are heated throughout the main building. There is a kitchen you can use to make breakfast in the morning, as well as pots and pans, and farm goods to buy. It is a working farm so there are animals around! Overall a wonderful and welcoming place to stay.

It was a lovely and friendly place to finish our trip in Iceland. You can camp or stay in an hostel. You have a shared living room when you can cook eat rest and speak. A piano Is there as sheep dog and rabbits. The owner are really nice too. On top you have free wifi & Hot shower and you can by local food. We recommand it

Bjarteyjarsandur is an absolutely wonderful and magical place. The place itself is hidden in a valley with an amazing view on Hvalfjörður and the mountains surrounding it. The campsite is somewhat small, yet seems really cosy. The staff is very friendly and strive to make you feel part of the countryside family. The facilities at the camp are astonishingly nice and reach the levels of home bathrooms, another family-friendly aspect of this location and really puts city-owned campsites to shame.

If this hasn't persuaded you yet, then listen to the best part: the sheep. Bjarteyjarsandur is not only a great campsite, but also a farm. In the mornings you may be woken by the sound sheep being herded, during the day you may enjoy the views of the dogs interacting with the sheep herds and in the evenings you can observe the peaceful grass-grazing beasts in the light of the setting Icelandic sun.

Lovely camping place with beautiful friendly owners/staff. We stayed in a camper. Fair price, all facilities included (kitchen, toilets and shower). Also check their hot tub with a scenic view, it costs additional price but definitely worth it!

Great place for camping (July 2017), not many visitors, friendly staff and animals. Access to hidden hot bath on the beach (with awesome water view).
If bored - check beach with big whale bones(

We camped here with our tent. The price was very good and all the services were available (shower, kitchen, electricity). There are various local products available including sweaters. People and also animals here are very friendly ☺️ Highly recommended.

Very nice location to camp! We went for a walk at the coast in the afternoon and was really nice and peaceful. The bathrooms and shower were clean. The only problem is that it has 3 bathroom (one in the same room with the shower) and one shower which i think is not enough.

Wow. This is a must-stay place if you're camping around the country. After showering and cooking in a few questionable spots, it was really nice to come here and feel like we were visiting a friends' home. The family running the farm was friendly, and though we didn't arrive in time to eat at their restaurant, the whole building smelled amazing. 👍🏾👍🏾

The best campsite I've ever been to during my roadtrip through Iceland. Great location with scenic views, fully equipped kitchen, hot shower and clean bathrooms, large common area, fresh local and organic lamb steaks!!. The family who runs this place is very warm and welcoming!!

My friend and I came back for a second night after checking out Akranes and some waterfalls the first day. We got the chance to help feed some animals on the farm as well!

One of the best camping a in Iceland. Super cool family run business/farm. Warm shower, full kitchen with utensils and pots, great common area, super close to the beautiful Glymur falls. Cool peeps, good times.

Excellent camping site located below a farm. Facilities were good. We had a lovely guided tour to visit the farm animals which both kids and parents enjoyed. Staff was welcoming and told us alot about nearby hiking paths. Local meat products were available for purchase and were delicious.
