  Opened in December 2001, Silk Road Gallery is Iran’s first art gallery devoted entirely to photography. Over the years, the gallery has played a crucial role in actively helping the development of a new artistic movement in Iranian photography and promoting the best of Iranian photographers. Today, far from being just a commercial institution, the gallery acts as an incubator in which new ideas and experiences are exchanged, discussed and congealed.
  Iranian photographers have now found their own highly recognizable distinct style of communication that they exercise with commitment and passion. Since the opening of Silk Road Gallery’s second space located in Tehran's city center, the gallery now hosts photography and art in other mediums while keeping its guideline for quality content and presentation.

  Silk Road or Raah-e Abrisham is the first gallery in Tehran dedicated entirely to photography. The gallery is located in Northern Tehran, where because of heavy traffic it takes very long to reach. The curatorship is just mediocre.
