The activities of the Petroleum Industry Research Institute are:
Providing scientific-laboratory services
Providing advice for optimizing and overcoming industry bottlenecks with priority given to the oil industry
Exploration and evaluation of hydrocarbon resources and development of extraction methods
Adopting the approach of increasing short-term production with emphasis on the well-centered method
Identify unconventional hydrocarbon sources
Comprehensive studies of reservoirs and presentation of field development plan
Identify, evaluate and fabricate catalysts
Solving the problems of oil and gas industries with the help of nanotechnology
Technical development, transfer and localization of refinery technologies
Submitting licenses and designing licensed units of oil and gas condensate refineries
Development of research related to improving the quality of petroleum products
Development of gas purification and transfer methods and its conversion into other valuable products
Synthesis and formulation of chemicals for the oil, gas and petrochemical industries
Simulation of oil and petrochemical industry processes with the help of related engineering software
Identification and application of special polymers in industries
Development of technical knowledge and localization of processes, conceptual, fundamental, detailed design and problem solving of related industries
Construction of engineering pilots, process modeling and simulation
Development and transfer of technology for manufacturing oil industry equipment
Introducing new technologies in eliminating water, air, soil pollution and protection of oil facilities.
Obtaining the required licenses and building local refineries of national oil, gas and gas condensate
