Very beautiful monastery. It is the second most important Christian centre in Iran. You can also visit Choopan(Shepherd) church 20 km to Jolfa city.

You certainly don't see that very often in Iran, but that is a perfect example of the change of civilization. It is almost 2000 years old (been rebuilt though) and is now a Unesco heritage site. You can see the Armenian border from there. There are only a few Christian church in Iran and this is one of these.

The St. Stepanos Monastery or Monastery of St. Stephen the Protomartyr (کلیسای استفانوس مقدس) - Jolfa, built in the 9th century, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will need to walk a short but a bit steep distance to the site.
