Kolbe is a really friendly cottage! You can feel like you are in another planet. I named it kolbe planet where you can chill out and listen to the sound of Haraz river day and night. I came here in all 4 season and you can not imagin the cottage and the nature of around are amazing in each season. You can eat organic vegetable from the garden, lay on terrace and look at Damavand volcano and read your book in pure silence and drink iranian hot tea too. For me kolbe is my planet and offer you to experience yours in this hospitable and friendly cottage.
I recommend the daily tours of the diverse nature around the place with very reasonable price including the transport and the guide.response / report this review -

Kolbe is a Very relaxing and cosy place with a nice view of mountains and a great view of Damavand summit. You can chill out in the terrace and look at the endless valley and listen to the Haraz river sound while you look at the wild stream. There are many daily activities around the place and you need a car for some of them to save the time and enjoy the day. the staff offer very reasonable prices for the transport, food and tours. They are very kind, respectful and trust able.

I've visited Kolbeh Hostel at the end of summer, Aug. 2017 with my friends. After a week of visiting whole Iran, we wanted to have a rest in the mountain hut and go for some trekking trips around.
That was not a hut, we actually expected. It's one of many simple houses in the village, next to main higway, but with an amazing view to Damavand summit.
All nature surroundings (lake, waterfall, forrest) are 0,5h-2h driving by car. From the hostel you can only go for a short hike to trout farm by the river or caves. All guided trips cost fro 30-80 euro.
Make sure whether the host wants to charge you for guiding and for the transfer (always ask for the total price, it may be per person).response / report this review -

A wooden hostel in front of 5671m Damavand volcano peak and you can chill on the terrace and see the smoke coming out of summits. The place is friendly, clean, comfortable and well equipped for summer and winter. The best place for hikers, climbers, nature lovers, families, couples, groups and tired backpackers. Everybody feel like home there.

Ali was such an amazing host in his house is in the perfect setting the explore the surrounding mountains and valleys. Ali is an amazing host, great cool and awesome guide to see the surrounding region.

Ali is an amazing host. He can show you around great hiking spots where you'll get incredible views of Damavand and it's surrounding foothills, be shown how to find wild oregano and mint (to make delicious tea), lead you to idyllic waterfalls and long forgotten ancient castles perched upon precarious hills.
Get in touch with Ali and arrange a time to stay at his simple, but charming Eco-hostel. The hostel has stunning views of the surrounding valleys and is a tiny drive from hidden ancient Stone Age cave houses built into the cliffs. A perfect place to escape Tehran and chill whilst exploring a stunning natural setting.
Pick up from Tehran is possible. Meals can be arranged to be included too.response / report this review
