Jamkaran Located near Qom, the Masjid draws pilgrims from all parts of Iran as well as other countries, who stream in to Qom where all roads head to the mosque on Tuesday evenings.
The Mosque was built in the year 393 AH (1003 by the Gregorian calendar) by Hassan Bin Maslah by the order of Imam Mahdi (AS), the Twelfth Imam of the Shiite Muslims.

Jamkaran Mosque is very beautiful mosque which is visited by millions Shiites around the world, every year. It remain busy through out the year. Different events are held in this mosque on important Islamic dates. Like other Mosques in Iran, interior of this mosque is also eye catching. Peaceful & calm atmosphere prevails here. It's open for every one including non muslims.

The mosque, six kilometres east of Qom, has long been a sacred place, at least since 373 A.H., 17th of Ramadan (22 February 984 C.E.), when according to the mosque website, one Sheikh Hassan ibn Muthlih Jamkarani is reported to have met Muhammad al-Mahdi along with the prophet Al-Khidr. Jamkarani was instructed that the land they were on was "noble" and that the owner — Hasan bin Muslim — was to cease cultivating it and finance the building of a mosque on it from the earnings he had accumulated from farming the land.

One of the most spiritual place present in Iran apart from the one Roza Imam Reza in Mashadh. The place is a huge mosque complex as good as 10+ football fields with so many resting places in and around the complex. There is a mosque in the complex which is usually full but especially on Thursdays there are hardly any spaces left empty in the entire complex. Iranians mostly use the complex as a picnic place quite often and enjoy the whole new level of spiritualism. The evenings at this place are amazing with the sounds of prayers and elegies all around.
