Really worth a visit when in Tehran. It is a great place to truly experience some modern history. The included guided tour is very informative but can be a little onesided at times.

Great embassy and an even better place to visit. The only issue I had was with the Iranian toilets, they were filled to the rims with greenish purple waste. The next time I visit I'll bring a bag or wear a diaper!

Came into the limelight again after Hollywood movie argo released world wide, receiving mixed response from the local people whom still face the aftermath of incident which affecting their life even now.
currently public entry inside the premises are limited to certain occasions only.
However, you are free to roam around the embassies gated compound wall covered with graffiti, portraying slogans and pictures.
It was bit scary and looming, since i was the only foreigner there at that time.response / report this review -

A place you could not miss to understand part of recent history of this great country, to undestand what is over the fog of propaganda, a urban monument about urban riot and anti-occidental culture

Awesome museum about the Islamic revolution. Put politic asides, you can still see a lot of spying devices at that time, and how much effort they put to retrieve the data

After watching "Argo", I was literally dying to see this place. You can get there by metro. It's close to Taleghani Subway Station.
The place is very interesting, though it is filled with hatred. The place is called "Laneh-ye Jasusi", which means "the nest of spies". You can see anti-American or anti-Israeli posters, ideological murals. Down with USA is everywhere. You can still see the rooms filled with espionage machines which the American government used in its policy. Enjoyed every moment of being there.

Absolutely worth a visit. Always interesting to see things from the other side of the glass. Almost everything is translated into English. And yes there is an English speaking guide.

200000rial for the entrance fee. COMPLETELY NOT WORTH IT. Most explanations are in Farsi and you are not going to convinced by the so-called evidence on display and there is no guide as well.
Better spend your money somewhere else, e.g. a Kebab+rice meal.response / report this review -

One of Tehran's landmarks (after Azadi's tower and a feww others). Looks rather gloomy. One cannot enter inside because its permanently closed. Surrounding walls are covered in graffitti showing Islamic countries stance on usa. I understand this stance - usa have always been putting their nose into other countries' affairs. Small wonder its getting on their nerves.

I am an Iranian American & I feel so sad a bout these things happened in US embbasy at the time I was 16 and later on we moved to US for ever.
