It is not a glamorous business but someone needs to do it and that person is me. I am an international grout dealer, and damn, nothing gets better than this dam. War is hell, but a wet muddy hell is worse. Ive been selling hundreds of thousands of tonnes of grout to this facility for the last ten years and I've put my kids and several others through civic engineering school. See the connection? No? It is a long term play so pay attention: My Minions get jobs at big civic engineering infrastructure firms where they get hired out by emerging economies to find 'good' locations for dams because dams = $ (loooooong story on how that racket works.. mayby later). Unlike putting in oil infrastructure which is a one and done kinda deal, dams built on carefully selected geologic structures rotten with salt, gypsum, marbles, silt, fractured fault zones and the like- places dams should never be built, are ideal century long cash cows. Huh? Read on: Deep in the contract to build the dam between the emerging economy and the consortium of held harmless helpful western industrialized corporations is a little grout clause that pegs the price of the proprietary specified grout used at the dam at that countries inflation, plus the US dollar inflation, plus 20% annually times 2. It is a relatively small clause (20 pages), deep in the 1,200 page (give or take) material specification sub section of the contract to build the dam. No one reads it- its a yawner for sure, besides! How much grout does it take to build a dam? Ha ha ha ha, ho ho ho!!! SO. The dictators mistresses break the champagne on the freshly minted dam, everybody rails a few lines, they fill the damn dam up and next thing you know slowly but surely the salt dissolves, the silt suspends, the marbles roll and the dam starts leaking and cracking and settling. Allot. Potentially catastrophically allot. like even though you are in year 20 of a war you gotta fix the damn dam allot. How do you fix those leaks and cracks? You pump grout in the ground under around on top of to the sides down stream up stream side stream next hill over from the damn leaky goddamned damn dam. Who's grout are you contractually obliged to to pump into the ground at millions of cubic feet per month 24 7 for the next 100 years at insane prices? Schwing !!!! That's why they cal me the God Of Grout (GOG). Remember those kids of mine with the civil engineering degrees? Out there selecting dam sites? It's good to be GOG.
