Good and bigest ariport like this
This airport lacks customer service and it's very inconvenient when you have to go though security check and wait for the bus to take you to the terminal and go through another security check again. There are people who can drive to the airport Gate but that luxury is not available for average citizens. Security officers here need to be trained on becoming faster instead of making people wait in long lines.
Great airport! Fought with the Kurds in 2003 for freedom!
airport management has coordinated with some heartless taxi drivers. they ask unreal amount of money for a very short distance, for instance $45 or $50 for 3 or five kilometres. they should have been arrested not to be allowed and coordinated with.
Very nice, clean airport with helpful personnel. Baggage claim area is very large, be advised your bags will be x-rayed after you have retrieved them before you depart the airport.
We lived in Erbil from 2013-1016. We travelled through this airport frequently. Overall, its a very good airport. Secure, clean, orderly. Only issue is during the summer, the pre-boarding rooms are HOT! Need to put some AC in there.
Best map i'v ever seen !
Great airport hope yo open again
why goverment bring staff another country for manage airport? Kurdish can manage that. i mean Some people can think kurds even couldnt manage airport. second those foreign guys even dont know kurdish language. i see some kurds coulnt explain themselves easiliy. i heva never see that another where. if they keeping working they must be educated kurdısh language.
Really nice, clean, and modern airport. It has an elegant design, staff are really friendly and helpful, and there are different amenities for passengers. A major, major downside is lack of free WiFi at the airport. This is very much necessary in all airports these days. Also, what I'd say the airport lacks is a proper eating place or a food court area. Last, and not least, is the lack of normal taxi access into the airport terminal. This means you have to pay five to six times the price of a normal taxi only to get out of the airport into the city, which is less than a kilometer. You are asked to pay $25 for a taxi ride from the airport while normal taxis charge only $5 for the same trip.
Reapectful personnel and well organized airport. The only poibt you have to consider that you have to take the bus from terminal 1 to terminal 2 which may take about 15 minutes.
It very small.
Poorly signed.
Bathroom are far away from each place.
Not too obvious, everything is confusing.
Have taxies when a traveler gets out takes you directly to the place you want.
Have SIM cards, but no always available.
Have some hotel options booths but only expensive ones.
Have can rentals put side the airport.
If you have someone waiting outside for you, that means you will take the bus out of arrivals to another terminal that's not too far away.
A bus comes each 5-10 minutes.
The bus driving is crazy.
It gets too crowded.
Not designed to hold bags, or bags are not secure.
So if you don't hold it, the bag will get mushed.
People tend to be very odd (other passengers) always racing with you!!!
There are only two belts for luggages, and they are very slow most of the times.
Whenever I come from the US my luggage is lost.
They have good luggage finding system.
The shopping area is not too brilliant but if you are looking for a small gift to give to some before leaving the airport, you can find something.
They added carts but you have to pay 3000-13000 ID $2-$8 to get it.
People speak Kurdish, Arabic, and some English.
If you are traveling out of erbil be there 2 hours before your flights.
Unless you have a security clearance, you can't directly to the checking in terminal. You need to take the crowded crazy bus from the first arrivals stop next to parking.
There is out side parking fees of about $1/hour.
I want to add that I love it because I know where everything is. And it's not too confusing to as I speak Arabic and some Kurdish. But just be ready if you don't speak the languages.
5 stars for the staff, 2 stars for all other stuff,
After the first checkpoint you have to wait outside under the sun for a bus to take you to the other building, there was only one bus today!
One small duty free shop and one coffee place and that is it! All other places are empty, which made the coffee price silly! 9000 IQD for one coffee in a coverless disposable cup.
Erbil is a beautiful city and it deserves a better and bigger airport.
Got threatened by the security guards in the front for been canadian citizen and because I couldn't help my mum my mum is handicapped vary sad
Not that big airport, the customs 🛃 Dept are small they have about 5 officers, but beautiful airport and better than Sulaimany Airport.
The best airport in Kurdistan
Erbil international airport is one of the most modern airports in the region, opened in 2010 has the world's 9th longest runway enables it to receive the biggest commercial aircraft in the world
Very decent airport, i used their services several times now, none of which left a bad impression.
Terrible airport.
From landing they charged my Iranian passport for 25000 IQD for visa!!!
This rule is only for Iranian passport and this discrimination and insulting kills me forever.
They wanted to cheat anyone to make money.
You should buy water for 2000 IQD there!!!
They give extra charge from hello taxi to enter main entrance therefore you should pay 30 $ for hello taxi that is too expensive!otherwise you show ride a bus.
These issues contradict to absorbing tourism.
The place is like cemetery you can see a few passengers.
Shameful you should rent trolley for 2000 IQD.
first they should learn about hospitality than cheating.
I had bad experience that I will never back to Kurdistan
