  A jewel in the desert. Great beaches, a fascinating ziggurat off in the distance, and the chow hall has one of those Mexican mariachi bands to entertain. Fabulous! The rickety bunker/sandbag/tent-like structure where I resided was quite relaxing.

  OIF 8, best resort ever (Marine side).
  Pro:
  Nice trails along the beach, beautiful sunsets and sunrises, 24 hour gym, great selection of food, laundry wash and fold, awesome reading material inside bathroom stalls, panoramic views of never-ending dunes Cons:
  Wifi was introduced after my stay, explosions and rumbles near the airport, sandstorms, super dry heat, slow internet cafe, waking up with the powerout feeling like I was in an oven, long lines to get into resort.
  
  Would love to buy a time share one day!

  Army 1/05-1/06. Top government vacation spot with lakeviews, toxic waters, mortars, ied's and such. Oh and hot as hell i think it rained once. Good memories though.

  Army 06-07. Stones throw from the beach on lakeside. Ran convoys, and loved it.

  Hotel California didn't have the continental breakfast i was expecting. The beach was nice though.
