  Great historic mosque
  It is said that the head of imam hussain and other companion were kept over here
  It is also said that the janaza of imam ali was kept here on way to najaf

  The Head of Imam Hussain a.s. was kept in the middle of the mosque.
  According to a narration of Imam Jafar al-Sadiq a.s, after Ali ibn Abi Talib a.s died, his sons Imam Hasan a.s and Imam Hussain a.s carried his body from Kufa to Najaf. As they were passing, the pillars of the mosque inclined towards the body.
