SHRAM is an online research portal and data repository, exploring internal migration in South Asia with specific focus on India.

The SHRAM portal highlights developments from the field, by showcasing initiatives and research from NGO partners supported by the Tata Trusts, collaborative research from SHRAM's academic partners, as well as mirror posting relevant research from across institutions.

The portal will be useful to researchers, young scholars, policy makers, social scientists as well as university teachers and students interested in internal migration and labour markets.

The content is managed by IRIS Knowledge Foundation.

SHRAMIC's goals:
To improve understandings of:
• The extent and nature of migration in India
• The livelihood strategies of migrants, migrant workers and their families
• The use of migration as a livelihood strategy by households

• Create a conducive environment for migrants and recognize the contribution of migrants while formulating poverty reduction and employment strategies
• Suggest evidence based policy prescriptions for protection of the rights of migrants
