The old name of Krishnanagar city was "Krish nagar" & Before that city's name was "REWE". Later Maharaja Krishnachandra changed the name of Rewe to Krishna nagar in 1757. the reason of bengali pronunciation so many time many people call to Krishnanagar as 'Krish'Nagar, even the people of this city they write the spelling of the city "Krishnagar" also.. Which one actually is wrong. Roy Para is the important area of Krishnanagar. Where Maharaja Krishna Chandra Roy lived once a time. According to his sur name the area may know as 'Roy Para'
