I bought 3 pair of shoes before a week for about Rs. 2700. They had an offer running at that time. For every Rs. 1200 spent, you receive Rs. 500 coupon which can be used from Nov 30 - Dec 16 to buy any shoes. So I received 2 coupons worth Rs. 1000. So far so good. On Dec 1, I visited the store again to buy shoes and redeem my 2 coupons worth Rs. 1000. I selected a Rs. 1500 pair of shoes and presented my coupons at the check out counter.
Now the checkout clerk is informing me that I have to purchase at least Rs. 1200 worth of shoes to get Rs. 500 off. This was completely new to me. I argued with them for an hour and half with them but they would not budge. The same people were present in the store on Friday and they all started alleging that they had mentioned this when I bought the shoes on Friday but nothing of this sort was mentioned to me. They want to me to spend Rs. 2400 additional to redeem Rs. 1000 coupons. I left the store without purchasing anything.
Payless is my favorite store in US. I have been purchasing from Payless in US for about a decade now and not once I had a bad experience. First time I purchased in India and I had a very disappointing experience. I am very unhappy with the experience and will avoid purchasing from Payless stores in India.report this review
