Man’s tryst to stay connected to nature is perhaps as old as the history of mankind itself, and this need to reconnect and be one with nature has become all the more relevant given the hectic and relentless pursuits of concepts such as Success, achievements etc. While society does play a pivotal role in shaping our lives and our future, everybody has that unshakable intrinsic need to let go of the everyday tensions and worries and unwind in the lap of nature, even if for a very brief period of time. This very need to reinvigorate our lives and retune our senses culminates in creating LAMKOI, a group with the vision to reintroduce the splendour and beauty of nature and also to promote and propagate responsible and sustainable tourism which will benefit the natives who are the real guardians of the land.
Though limited in resources and knowledge of nature, the enthusiasm and eagerness to learn and experience new things is what drives LAMKOI to take up initiatives which present challenges as well as opportunities to broaden our knowledge and fulfill the insatiable urge for adventure. The virtually connected world of today has seen a steep decline in the appreciation and understanding of nature, especially amongst the younger generation who are brought up amidst gadgets and gizmos which, while making life more convenient, have also made the users dependent on them. LAMKOI, in its own small way is persistently making efforts to bring back the joy of playing in the lap of nature and of discovering small wonders in the simplest of things. If we can rekindle the flame of curiosity and respect for nature through our activities, then we would consider our efforts worth everything we put in..
