Memories of freedom fighters. I visited here with my friend. When you will enter from the gate. There is gate from where the cruel General Dyer enters with his soldier. He give order to fired on the unarmed protesters. The sign of the bullets which hits the wall are still there. There is also a well in which the some people jumped to safe them from bullets. There is a small museums is also there. It contains the pictures. I feel amazing to visit the Jallianwala Bagh.
Must go place....its just a journey into the history. One will get nostalgic knowing about the sufferings of the people under colonial India....
Must spare some time to visit the museum.
One can spend an entire winter afternoon here....
The recent face-lift of the area....the heritage walk...is unbelievably pleasant.
Awesome trip to pre Independence history. You would feel emotions and connected to events that took place here. Only draw back is the place got complete make over. Government should have kept it intact the way it was during 1919 so that you can actual feel the soil on which it all happened.
Well maintained place. One can locate the exact bullet shot on the walls. They arrange a small gallery having rare newspaper cutting of that time about this incident. So overall it is a good historical place to visit
Well maintained place in the memory of people who laid their lives for the sake of their country. It is well described at the places from where the general went with his gunmen and from where firing was done. The well in which people jumped in is now fenced and covered. There is a small gallery where pics of freedom fighters of Punjab along with their contributions is displayed. The gallery is non-AC, however is small and can be covered in 15min along with reading the write ups. The park is well maintained with lush green grass and a memorial monument at the center.
This is a place of inspiration for every Indian.
A historic place..... the garden is so beautiful, in the middle of which is a big flame - shaped memorial in memory of the martyrs. In one side of the garden are a few figures of the Britishers (massacreing the people at the gathering) made by cutting plants into that shape, and in another side, there are beautiful flowering plants. In the museum, there is information on many revolutionaries.
Well Maintained Memorial Honouring the Martyrs who lost their lives to the Barbaric Actions of Greedy Britishers. Killed in a Non Violent protest.
Memorial is usually crowded on weekends. Nice museum at the end with Original Manuscripts. There runs a Blood Donation drive encouraging people to give blood for the nation.
Historical place. Shows how lives of innocent people were taken by British General Dyer. Now it has become a proper park. People come here for a walk maybe yoga in the morning. Well maintained.
Place every human being need to visit... the price people pay to live free are etched on these walls and the water well that was a burial pit... this is the WAR MEMORIAL for the soldiers who fought with their spirit and not with weapons, the only generation of peaceful infantry who believed in non violence....my salute to the martyrs...
The museum displays many freedom fighters who fought valiantly for freedom, also the bullet marks are clearly visible to this day, preserved so that the generations to come will learn to appreciate those brave souls before them...other than these nothing much to see, its more about the historical importance of the place..... one of the must visit destinations when you tour India...
This place has definitely left it's dark history behind and has embraced the modern times, while still showcasing about the dark past it is famous for... The museum and art galleries reopen the pages of history. The gardens are used by locals for recreation and the well and memorial pays homage to the martyrs of the Indian freedom struggle.
The place is well clean and its located very near the Golden Temple so in one visit both the spots together, just beside the golden temple.small distance from the railway station, We can reach the spot by rickshaw.
Past is Visible here, Thousands of People lost their lives here,You can find the wall with bullet holes..Very sad that such an event happened. A museum is also preserved showing the details. Everyone should visit this Memorable place...
For historical reasons, it deserves 5 Stars. Frankly speaking nothing much to see. Campus is good and well maintained. One can see from which Gate Journal dyer entered and order firing. One can also see well where many jumped into in panic. Do visit.
The place is well maintained and clean and is located very near the Golden Temple so one can visit both the spots together.
There is a museum inside this place where one can see some history of the British Rule in India. There are also some very old bullet mark around this place which have been marked distinctly and are quite famous.
Recommended.
There is a museum entry and there is an entry which is said to be the one from where General Dyer entered. The museum entry is much better as it shows a lot of history.
You wont spend more than 20 minutes here
Pros:
Museum exhibits
Neat & clean
Well Managed
Makes you go into the patriotic mood instantly
Bullet walls, martyr well everything has been well preserved
Walking distance from Golden temple
All the signs give information in a very outspoken manner without using any euphemisms, which reminds you of the freedom struggle. Very impactful
Cons:
a lot of the architecture seems newly built which seems to reduce the authenticity of the place, but is also required to keep the place maintained
