  Shri Rishi Varun Mishra Shri Rishi Varun Mishra- Mishra Brothers belongs to the Illustrious gharana of Banaras. Their training in Indian Classical Music started at an early age under the guidance of their Guru and Grand Father Late Pandit Ganesh Prasad Mishra(Ex-Vice Chancellor of Bhatkhande University-Lucknow) and Father Pandit Vidyadhar Mishra(Professor-Music Department, Allahabad University). They have received intensive training in Khayal, tarana, tappa, thumri, dadra, ch...aiti, kajri and bhajan etc. They belong to a family of eminent musicians of the Banaras Gharana. A family of maestros that comprises of legends such as Late Pt. Bade Ramdas Ji Mishra, Late Pt. Harishankar Mishra Ji, Late Pt. Anokhe lal Mishra Ji, Padmavibhushan Pt.Birju Maharaj Ji, Padmabhushan Pt. Rajan Sajan Mishra Ji, Padmabhushan Pt. Chhannulal Mishra Ji & Late Padmavibhushan Vidushi Girija Devi ji. Successfully running their own Music academy in Allahabad & Mumbai named as 'ALANKAAR'(Pt. Bade Ramdas Ji Music Academy). "B High" Grade Artiste of All India Radio & Doordarshan. Mishra brothers have given numerous performances all over the country. Some of the performances to be named are- LUCKNOW MAHOTSAV, TAJ MAHOTSAV(Agra), SANKAT MOCHAN SANGEET SAMAROH(Varanasi), GANGA MAHOTSAV(Varanasi), Bhubaneswar Annual Music Festival(Orissa), Akhil Bharatiya Sangeet Sammelan(Allahabad), Swami Haridas Sangeet Sammelan(Mumbai), Ustad Bismillah Khan Smriti Samaroh(ICCR- Varanasi), Epicentre(Gurgaon), Habitat Centre(Delhi), Triveni Mahotsav(Allahabad), Bharat Bhavan(Bhopal), Music In Park(Bhubaneswar), Tarang(Hyderabad), & Kala Samanvaya 2014(Guwahati) etc. They have Performed for Doordarshan(Allahabad & Lucknow), AIR- Lucknow, Allahabad & Varanasi. They have also performed abroad at Nehru Centre,London(UK), Celebration of Indian Music- Watermans Theatre, London(UK), India International School, Chantilly Virginia(USA), Phoenix Festival(Japan), Buddhist Society of Music(Japan), Bangkok Theatre Music and Concert(Bangkok), Indian Fine Arts Society(Singapore), ICCR(Sri Lanka), Echoes of the Ganga(Japan), Monoragala Music Festival(Sri Lanka), Badulla Music Festival(Sri Lanka). They have conducted workshops on Indian Classical Music(Banaras gharana) at Washington D.C.(USA) & Jaspar Centre,London(UK).
