  The one and only good place inside Viswabharati premises to stay with family. The owner Mr. Mitra is most courteous in all aspects of behavior. Rooms are well furnished and also some contains small fridge. The food: "you get what you want" be it spicy or light for elderly people and kids; yes you get it just ask for it. Location is prime, 5-10 min walk to the meusum and the Legend's house. Many famous personality used this lodge as a land mark when they were​ not recognized worldwide as this lodge/hotel stands since 1952. Now this is a place furnished with modern amenities but away form chaotic and busy city life yet very homely. I enjoyed my stay there.
  Just one recommendation to the owner, please add intercom facility to your existing services.

  We visited Shantiniketan between August 13 , 2017 and August 15, 2017 and stayed at Poushali Lodge located almost next to Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen’s House Pratichi . Large airy rooms and an excellent personalised service . Its the best located place to to stay if one wants to explore Viswabharati . Its in the lap of Tagore's abode of peace. Sangeet Bhawan, Museum, Kalabhavan, Kaach Ghar (Glass House) , Chaatimtala etc. all are at a stone's throw distance . One does not have to to hire a rickshaw to visit these must-see places of Shantiniketan. The Bengali cuisine is really good.

  Location- Strategically located lodge. Distance from the Railway Station & the main market is around 3-4 Kms.
  
  Rooms- Depending on the budget I had, my room was good, well maintained & cosy
  
  Food- if someone is interested in having authentic Bengali cuisine. Poshali hotel is right place. But , I found the food menu & items very costly
  
  Staff-Staff members are warm & amicable.
  
  OverAll I rate Poshali lodge with 4 stars & would recommend people.

  Very good atmosphere...good food.. And fresh..
  
  Recently I have been there with my family.
  My father is an ex student of ViswaVarati University.
  He had the first lunch in this hotel before 33 years ago..
  Before giving the admission test..And he got admitted to the University.
  He use to come and eat over there..
  He use to tell us about their well behavior with their customers and their good food..
  So this place is connected to his heart..
  
  So..He took us to this hotel after this long 33 years and the whole environment was amazing..

  Not the best,but surely one of the better places to stay in shantiniketan. The rooms are ok (little bit camped, I'll say). Very homely atmosphere,owner and staff are good.food quality also good. Overaĺl, you will enjoy it even if you are a fresh man from a metropoliten area.
