Description

A sculpture trail is a walkway through open-air showcasing a wide range of sculpture and outdoor art in a unique setting along a defined route.

We are researching and planning to create a "Groudle Art Trail” here around Groudle Cottages and Groudle Glen over the next three/five years. We are looking for artists and sculptors to create a variety of sculptures or art that can be placed throughout the glen either as a permanent piece or as part of an exhibition.

In 2012 as a result of some fallen trees in the Glen we commissioned Nick Barlow to create “Groudle Wizard”. We also have a couple of painted pieces on walls around Groudle by Kit Nelson (Kitster) and a few other pieces around the cottages by Adam Berry.

The glen is open to anyone and having a sculpture trail would enhance the area and natural beauty. The trail and art placed within a glen would create something different on the island whilst also promoting Manx Art, public Art, culture and Artists.
