For nature or history lovers highly recommended to spend a day or two over. It feels like a mini holiday due to its remoteness, the sealife around it and the absence from modern amenities. Seals, countless sea birds and with a bit of luck cataceans can be seen from the coast. The beds are hostel style, showers are unavailable and TVs are not present.
The local wardens of Manx Wildlife Trust are full of knowledge and friendly. The transit over can be booked with a local charter boat and is usually between 20 and 30 gbp both ways.
On the way over great sightseeing spots like the chasms and the drinking dragon are astonishing to see from the sea.
Definitely coming here again, perfect place to eat calf of men. Best restaurant ever, at least 3 Michelin stars.
Fantastic place for nature lovers. Unspoiled nature at it,s best. Can be reached by boat trip from Port Erin or Castletown. Birds nesting and living here (puffins for example). Atlantic seal colony.
Fantastic and beautiful day out. Went over via Shona boats from Port Erin. Highly recommended!
Book a boat from Port St Mary and take a picnic. Walk to the old lighthouses and enjoy breathtaking views over the sea. Calf of Man is a lovely island, easily walkable and allows you to get close to nature. Seals, Dolphins, Kittiwakes, Guillemots and Puffins all make for a lovely few hours of tranquillity.
