Amazing back of the woods place. It gives off almost a hippy commune vibe but VERY cool. Would definitely recommend staying there.

Great place for families and groups of friends. Clean, simple and well equipped. You get towels, bedsheets, wood for bonfire and plenty of dishes and cooking equipment in the kitchen. Closed in July -August.

I stayed there in November 2017 and it was amazing. I had a chance to chat with the owner and he was very nice and shared his travel experiences with us. Totally worth visiting.

I have to say that my experience with Shkedi's Camplodge was a really good one. On my way to Shkedi's Camplodge it was already late in the evening and my friends and I had a burst tyre. We wrote an email to Shkedi's Camplodge telling them we might be late. They replied very fast telling us this would be no problem. So when we arrived, our room was ready for us and a staff member welcomed us showing us the bathrooms and the kitchen.
The pros:
- our room and the beds/bed sheets were clean and each of us got a towel. In addition there were quite a few little bottles containing shower gel/shampoo and our room had air-conditioning.
- the bathrooms (showers and toilets are seperate and are shared with all guests) were clean
- they have a kitchen that can be used by any guest with three gas stoves, a very big fridge where you get your own spot and a lot of utensils (e.g. knives, pans, etc.) that you would need to prepare various dishes.
- there are heaps of chairs and sofas around where you can sit on. Moreover they have fans that you can turn on if it's too hot.
- the staff is very friendly and polite. On our first and only night they offered us some mosquito repellent.
The cons:
- there are literally dozens of flies and though I haven't seen any mosquitos there probably are heaps of them as well, otherwise we would not have been offered mosquito repellent. When we had our breakfast, some of us couldn't sit still as there were too many flies flying around and touching us and our food. But I guess, for me, that's the only negative aspect about Shkedi's Camplodge.
Overall I'd say that Shkedi's Camplodge is a nice place to stay at.response / report this review -

The place is beautiful, very clean, has a kitchen with everything you need. Shared showers and toilets, but kept in clean condition all the time. The staff are very nice. Very suitable for groups. There are many hiking trails around.

We have been to few camp lodges in Israel and this is maybe one of the best. The place is nice, good facilities, convenient, and clean. The cabins and the hats are all air conditioned, lavatories and showers are always clean, kitchen is well equipped. The staff are very responsive and kind, speak good English and German (one of them is from Berlin). Location is very good for The Dear Sea and Judea Desert travelers.
We plan to return there with a larger group of people (cabins are for 15 to 20 persons).response / report this review -

shkedi's earns five stars for being so laid back and easygoing, clean and comfortable. a welcomed respite from Babylon(en bokek) where we enjoyed dead sea dipping, mud etc. also ventured into some canyon hikes. May 18, 2015 update, little taken back to find a $12.77 surprise charge to my credit card for accessing the www using the camps wifi. Customer advice to Shkedi's: be up front with additional charges, especially for ones that are usual conveniences an establishment provides complementary.

Great place to stay. Really tidy. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Evening in front of the campfire was great. Obviously it's not the place if you are looking for a five star resoft
