To climb Mount Sodom can be tricky, especially in summer, when temperatures get about 50 degrees Celsius and the landscape offers no shade. It's worth the efforts, though, for three reasons: 1, the feeling "I've managed" every climber enjoys; 2, the magnificent mirror-image of the Jordanian mountains in the Dead Sea; and 3, exploring Wadi Perazim on the other side of the Sodom mountain range. The Wadi is accessible almost all year round except for the winter due to the risk of landslides caused by rains. The Wadi is a piece of art created by nature, with pillars, arches, ornaments created with different colors of the sediment layers. It's off the typical tour stops, so you may immerse in quietness and let your imagination work.
