A Verey importaned and impressive place
Eye opening experience; a must for any human being.
It is a lovely and peaceful place. The military cemetery is well thought out and quite beautiful. There are many graves of past Presidents, Prime Ministers, and many other important people of Israel. Lots of pine, cypress, wild almonds, and olive trees. Of course Hertzel's tomb is there as well as his family members. I think it is a must see!
"Rating" a cemetery is a strange, but this one is worth seeing. Not only is is beautiful but there are many important graves/memorials.
Mount Herzl is one of the loveliest parks in Jerusalem , well builded, with tall pine-trees and many benches with old people, that are sitting there to catch some sun at winter and some shadow in summer. There are a necropolis for our Israeli and Jewish political elite here: from Herzel to Shimon Peres, included Itzhak Rabin, Itzchak Shamir, Moshe Sharett and many others. You can see here Jabotinski's tomb too. Sometimes schoolbuses are carrying pupils for Mount Herzel tours. They are coming to Herzel museum, standing near the park entrance, running between the trees and making cheerful noises.
The park is highly recommended for senior citizens.
