The soup is very very good, and the food is nostalgic, but most things could be much better. Chopped liver, which should be what a Jewish restaurant is judged on, is really not good. The Krepalach was not good both when cooked and when fried, they both were too moist and the dough was just not that great.
Overall, stick to the soup. If that's why you're there, you'd go home setisfied.
Best "Tshulent" and "kishke" in tel aviv.
We came because we heard that they served matzo ball soup. The soup was small and just alright for how over priced it is. The staff were nice and the environment was quiet. The dishes are mostly Eastern European Jewish dishes. Lots of bland briskets and boiled potatoes. Overall the menu is pretty expensive, which makes sense given its location (which is great) and ability to attract tourists, primarily Americans. Would I recommend? Eh maybe, if you are really craving matzo ball soup and you want to pay anything for it, sure. Otherwise just search for some other place.
Very good Jewish Ashkenazi food in the center of Tel Aviv. You shouldn't miss the Chamin (tschulent).
Every person how visit Tel aviv should have lunch over there.
I will definitely go over there again.
Great home-cooked Jewish food. The only thing I didn't understand, why the charging 32 shekels for 1L of sparkling water.
Quality traditional Jewish restaurant. If you are looking for a gourmet meal, go else where! If you are interested in matzo ball soup and Eastern European Jewish traditional style foods, this is your place! Delivery fee is 12shekels
A worshipping site for classic east European cuisine. If it's your taste, you're gonna love it
Standings in the same place for years and for a good reason!
Great European Jewish food. Good service, unique atmosphere.
Everything we ordered (appetizers) was poorly prepared and presented. Over fried onions sprinkled on everything. Even the mashed potatoes were absolutely substandard. Save your money.
How do you get chicken soup with mazzah balls so wrong..? Soup was pretty much oily hot water with no flavor and the mazzah balls unedable.
Best traditional Polish Jewish food in ISRAEL!
If you like those nostalgic places you should check it out, other than that I think it's more the vibe of the place than the food that make people come here..
