The tastiest bite I had in Israel was here.
While exploring the Machaneh Yehuda market at night I found this place to have the biggest line of waiting customers, this along with the interesting style the food was being made at drew me in. I was seeing multiple pans on the stove, what came out of it were fluffiest pancake/crepes I have ever seen, after a minute these were 1/3rd of their original thickness and then were topped with delicious ingredients such as tehina, hummus, eggplant, fried onion, pickles and more. They, in turn, were served as rolls called Memulawach, these tasted like heavenly. It’s supposed to be a Yemenite street food and a must have when in Jerusalem.

So first of all Jahnun is a traditional Yemenite dish / food. Its basically a oily yummi carb! Its amazing and 99% of people will lobe it because its so simple and comforting. on Saturday it's closed.

Great and tasty Malawach sandwiches, which are healthy, and vegetarian and vegan friendly. Thursday night it’s a party for young adults with great music and people drinking by the bars and getting their munchies on.

Good Jewish Yemenite food with a twist, extremely nice staff and a very young vibe. Definitely worth a try!

I love this place. Vegan and vegetarian super tasty food! I've been here few times and it's never disappointing. The first time I tasted I was unsure cause it's a bit more expensive than the other fast food around but that "bread" it's really worth! Plus (last but not the least!) It's open on shabbat!

8.27.17 - fast and fresh. I'm not sure if this is a chain, but we ordered the memulawach and it was darn good.

The bread is flaky, light, and chewy. The filling is flavorful and filling.

Awesome fast food with really nice service.

Go here and tell them, 'make me something good,' and you won't be disappointed. It can take a while if there's a long line, but who cares?

My favorite restaurant in the Shuk. Try the malawach! I normally don't like hard boiled eggs but Jachnun bar makes them amazing

I don't know where to startI'd never had or even heard of Malawach, but a local recommended it and hot damn was I impressed! This is now one of my favourite foods! The owner was also awesome and his singing while making the food made for some fun memories during the rest of our vacation. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
