Lot of people commenting about the arriving and departure procedures.
We arrived from Istambul at about 10:30 pm we saw a lot of people hurrying to get to the customs area, when we arrived it was a sea of people, very chaotic with no personnel telling you what yo do or where to go, being that late the Israel Citizen checking was closed so everybody had to go through the normal lines, but with no indications where to line up everybody was just trying to get to the very few open control booths we were alternating among four different lines one by one until people got desperate and tried to cut the line, my wife was lining up in a different line so I called because I was getting closer and people accused me of cutting line, was a big argument so we asked a big tour group to let us join their line and they did, but when we got to show our papers the lady told us that this wasn't our line we told her what happened and reluctantly she proceeded to let us in. it was a big mess waiting for about 2 hours they should have people controlling the access points and directing people
On the way out flying to Jordan it wasn't that bad and the security and inspection was more detailed than when we arrived, is a nice beautiful and big airport, but I guess when we arrived it was disorganized.response / report this review -

My most favorite airport in the world! The security guards at this airport are by far the best trained, and the most professional that I have seen in my years of traveling. They don't have needless egos, like some of the other airports that I have been to on this planet! I feel very safe at this international airport!

Excellent security. That's all I can say. It's an international airport. It would be nice if they made travelers feel welcome when they arrive but I certainly understand the security concerns. Believe me they are the best in the world when it comes to airport security. They absolutely do profile screenings which most western country's consider rasist but when you have certain groups of people and country's trying to destroy your entire race, you might understand.

Beautiful airport and easy to get around. It’s spacious with lots of glass that gives it an airy fe l. We went through passport control at the same time as several arriving planes and it was extremely crowded. However they were quick to open up several additional windows so we got through quickly.

One of the best airports I've been through. clean, polite staff, everything is so fast and all is very clear.

La Farina, the best place to eat BY FAR in the whole terminal. Excellent foccacias, sandwiches, cakes, patisseries and breads. And the price is very surprisingly low compared to the other places in the terminal. Very recommended.

My first experience landing in Israel years ago was in Terminal One. I loved getting off the plane onto the tarmac. Terminal Three is much more modern and sleek. Many amenities and fascinating shops. Although there is much security the process this evening took less than thirty minutes from arrival to sitting comfortably at the gate.

Great magnificent airport. In general very efficient. I also love everything about this building the halls. Mainly the greatest thing is the way the arrivals go down and the departure go up against each other with only a glass wall separating. It's really a piece of art.

Modern airport, international flights are at terminal 3. Be at the airport 2-3 hours before your flight - you need it. The queue for everything is typically long.
Security checks are done much more intensive here than on other airports. There is a verbal security check - a security guard asks you several questions about your visit in Israel and your flight.response / report this review -

One of the best airports in the world due to the main and most important reason: security while in land, security during your upcoming outbound flight. You might be surprised, but here the staff at the security check will not take away from you your bottle of water or any other liquid ("We are looking for weapons and for explosives, Sir, not for still water"), neither you will have to take off your shoes or your belt during the security check, nor the metals' detector will ring due to any insignificant tiny button: they do their jobs with confidence, professionalism and kindness, and you rest reassured their only concern is your security and they definitely know how to do it. An example to be followed.

I was treated like a animal which came from the jungle.
I was for 4 days in Israel’s and at the border control they check me as I had weapons in my luggage. They lined me in a extra line where a lot of German people also was standing. I got from the border a yellow stamp with the beginning number 6 that means high potential.
I have been to a lot of countries but i never was treated like this.

I am from South Africa, I am not white, I am not a Jew. I went to Israel on a business trip. The customs officials gave me hell, El Al Airlines gave me hell. Upon arrival at Ben Gurion, custom made me wait to be interrogated for about 30min, after which they questioned me for about an hour including waiting time. It must be noted that I had all necessary documentation which included an invitation letter with contacts from an Israeli company. Upon leaving Israel they made me stand in a line for non-Jews/non-white foreigners. People in this line had their luggage searched. Every single item in my suit case was checked, even underwear. I was then taken to a cubicle where I was body searched, everywhere. This whole process took about 3 hours including waiting time. An Asian-American lady was in the cubicle next to me and they were forcing her to remove her bra because of the underwire. She refused profusely for obvious privacy reasons but the authorities would not accept it. My view is that officials try to instill fear in non-Jews and non-whites so that they do not come back. I must add that El Al Airline interrogated me in my own country before I could get on their flight, for about two hours. This included questioning and a luggage search.

Rather big airport with many shops (After u go through the check-in). Wifi was great & food prices there weren't as high as I expected them to be. There is a train station right next to the airport so it's really easy to get to the city from there.

This airport is one of the better ones out there. Good duty free, super strict but quick security. Tons of toilets that are usually very clean and lots of cold water fountains..not like other airports that force you to buy water (e.g. Zurich airport). Friendly service. Food inside is expensive, guess like most airports.

Lovely airport. The biggest disadvantage is queuing to security check. Make sure you you arrived 3 hours before your flight at least!
