We came off the street into this restaurant because the restaurant we wanted was full. It was during the Passover holiday. The building looks most uninviting from the outside. Inside, it is furnished in 1920s/1930s style. The menu explains that it's been going for 80 years. The waiter, with much posing, advocated the salads to start with ("traditional Lishansky recipes"). What came was average at best, with too much vinegar. For the main course, my husband had fish (fine), one son had gnocchi (OK), and another son had so called osso bucco, which was a bone of lamb rather than the usual veal and had very little meat on it. The waiter highly recommended that I have Kosher for Passover lasagne. This turned out to be sheets of matzo, which were soggy and burned at the edges, spread with tomato paste on top, and with bits of mushroom and spinach in between. It was barely edible. For all this, including a half bottle of very heavy wine (recommended by the waiter) we were charged NIS 600, which included NIS 105 for my disgusting lasagne. We ate at different restaurants all week and this was the worst value for money. We will never go there again.
