  I stayed here as part of a performing arts group named Nesiya that I was on back in 1991. Living at Har Ha Negev for two weeks was a FANTASTIC experience. Every morning, I would go sit and write in my journal while looking out over Mahktesh Ramon as the sun rose. This was in 1991, soon after the end of the Gulf War, and the Ibex weren't roaming around like they are now, which is good. We did go to the nearby Alpaca farm, and I'm glad to see that is still around. My fondest memories of being in Israel come from being in Mitzpe Ramon and at Har Ha Negev. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Even if you just come for a day to see the view over the Mahktesh, it's COMPLETELY worth it.
